After Spat With Musk, Trump Hires Back All Fired Feds
WASHINGTON—As the relationship between Elon Musk and President Trump turned sour on Thursday, Trump has dealt the death blow to Elon—hiring back every single federal employee that he fired. “We made a mistake, and it was quite bigly,” stated Trump as he boarded Air Force One.
Scientists made up a large portion of the fired feds who will now be rehired. “We will now have the golden age of science in the government,” Trump told reporters. “We’re going to make these scientists very happy. They all love me; they really do. People have been saying it.”
The news was welcomed by many scientists who just want to go to work and produce good science. Though concerns remained about the volatility of working in the federal sector. To address these concerns, Trump stated, “We are going to pass federal laws that offer protections for our employees from people like Mr. Musk who seek to destroy our great, great workforce. And they really are great. I’ve met some, and they all love me. They tell me ‘we’re so glad to have you again as our president’.”
It is unclear when the fired employees will have their jobs restored, as Trump has now lost the one person in his administration who—good or bad—actually did something.
